Profile: DLA Piper is a global law firm with significant presence worldwide. The firm was formed by the coming together in 2005 of three firms: Piper Rudnick, DLA and Gray Cary. According to The American Lawyer?s 2009 Global 100 survey, the British arm of the firm ranked 17th in revenue rankings of the top law firms in the world, with gross FY 2008 revenues of $1,085,000,000. According to the National Law Journal's 2009 NLJ 250, which considers the US and International operations of DLA Piper as a single firm, the firm was the second largest U.S. law firm, with 3,450 attorneys. Taken as a combined whole, the firm has more than eighty offices and offers a complete range of business law services. In January 2009, DLA Piper acquired Apollo & Associati, an Italian law firm, and Advokatfirmaet Steenstrup Stordrange, a Swedish law firm.
